As most of us know every goddess needs a pick me up to get the day started. I don’t know about you but unlike Beyonce, I most definitely do not “wake up like this” I can use all the help that I can get.
As a modern day boss babe, I am sure you can agree that there just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day. Not enough time to get tasks crossed off your never ending checklist, look presentable, and maintain your energy in the midst of it all.
I am here to tell you that I have a solution to a few of those problems!
It's no secret that health is wealth. I have always loved food and over the years have gained so much knowledge of the benefits that certain foods may bring you, which has been incorporated into me every day life.
I can admit, I am a bit of a wellness junkie (honestly, I am a junkie for anything fashion/beauty related lol). How this benefits you is, I am always trying new things and doing a ton of research—which means you don’t have to! (Even though I highly recommend you should because knowledge is power duhh)
Enough of my rambling, let’s get down to business. I want to share one of my favorite smoothie recipes that not only benefits you when it comes to beauty and maintaining energy, but it’s filling enough to keep you satisfied for a few hours when you just don’t have the time to cook.
I call this my Matcha Coconut Magic Elixir!
For this smoothie you will need:
-1/2 cup of coconut water { I use taste nirvana premium coconut water which only contains 9grams of sugar per serving, most coconut waters contain disgusting amounts of sugar 20 grams to be exact! Stay away from sugary coconut waters, too much sugar in your diet causes you to crash and we don’t want that! }
-1/2 cup oat milk {I use the brand oatly}
-1 tbsp of no stir smooth almond butter
-1 tsp Matcha powder {I use The Republic of Tea, hands down the been matcha powder I have tried}
-1 whole banana
-1 scoop vanilla protein powder { I use Amazing grass protein superfood, this powder is vegan it can be hard to find a plant based protein powder that doesn’t taste funky. I really enjoy this brand but i'll let you be the judge of that}
Blend it all together in blender (Ice is optional, I like my elixir room temp so I never add ice)
I typically don't like my smoothies too sweet so as is works for me, but if you have a major sweet tooth add a splash of maple syrup to desired taste vs using actual sugar. Maple syrup is a way better substitute health wise.
Real Maple Syrup has significantly more calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, copper, and manganese than Brown Sugar. These minerals do great work for your body including things like cell formation, maintaining healthy red blood cells, and immune support.
Thank me later! Enjoy beauties🤍
